High-impact, out-of-the-classroom learning experiences -- internships, study abroad, immersion trips, research -- are essential aspects of the honors experience at John Carroll. The Honors Program is pleased to offer its students financial support for those endeavors.

 

Honors students in good standing may apply for support for the following experiences:

  • campus ministry immersion trips (up to $1000)
  • study abroad coordinated by the Center for Global Education (up to $1000)
  • study tour with a JCU course (up to $1000)
  • unpaid internship (up to $1500 in the summer, $1000 fall/spring)
  • travel for participating in a conference (up to $1000)

 

Eligibility:

  • must have completed two full semesters at JCU;
  • the experience must be completed no later than the semester prior to graduation;
  • must be in good academic standing at JCU and the honors program;
  • students may receive support for one experience

 

Processes:

  • submit this application via Google Forms
  • deadlines: Fall and Winter immersions: September 20, 2024 - 11:59 p.m. Applications for support for study abroad and/or study tours have to be submitted the semester before at the time of registration.
  • for immersions, study tours, and study abroad, funds will be distributed via internal processes;
  • for internships, conference travel, and research, the JCU budget office will reimburse students directly on a schedule to be determined.
